About Autumn Garden and Little + Knotty

Little and Knotty is a Mama Owned and Operated Baby Brand. They offer buttery soft, comfortable and breathable knotted gowns, swaddle blankets, headbands, and top knot hats for the modern baby, made from a high quality bamboo blend fabric, their products are designed and handmade in Ontario, Canada. The fabric is also Oeko-Tex Certified and free from harmful chemicals.

Their goal is to create high-quality, everyday pieces for babies with their delicate skin in mind, but also the environment as well.

As a mom of three little girls, Autumn decided to launch Little and Knotty in the winter of 2020 after a year of planning and developing the business. As a mom who has tried virtually every type of fabric on her own kids she fell in love with Bamboo’s soft texture and breathable nature when her youngest daughter developed eczema at only a few months old. She began to research the cause of her daughters eczema and during that research she found out that clothing (yes, even baby clothing) often contains a lot of unnecessary chemicals such as formaldehyde, phthalates, BPA’S and more. Babies have such delicate and sensitive skin, and their skin will soak up those chemicals easily. She wanted access to more sustainable and ethical clothing that is toxic free, but also buttery soft and breathable. That’s where her journey began… She created high-quality sustainable, non-toxic everyday pieces that YOU can feel good about wrapping your baby in.

As a mom of three it’s also important for our business to be as eco-friendly as possible.  Bamboo is one of the most sustainable plants on the planet. It grows quickly and it requires little water and no chemicals. They also drastically reduce their carbon footprint by designing and producing all products in their home province of Ontario, Canada. They keep their packaging minimal to reduce waste. They also use shipping mailers that are made from 100% recycled materials, that can then be re-used or recycled.  Their tissue paper they use to keep items safe during shipping is also made from recycled material and is 100% recyclable or biodegradable.
